Compare two products
without leaving Amazon.
The Ask Versa extension lets you stage one product, open the next, and get an AI side-by-side verdict — straight from the product page. No copy-pasting links.
Works with Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave) and Firefox.
Compare from any page
Stage one Amazon product, open the next, and get an AI verdict — without copy-pasting links.
Right-click to compare
Use the context menu on any product page or link. No popup needed.
Background verdicts
The full AI pipeline runs while you keep browsing, then pings you when it's done.
Reads real reviews
Same engine as the site — analyzes 200+ reviews and every spec for an honest verdict.
Get it running in under a minute
The simplest path is the Chrome Web Store once it's published. Until then — or for a custom build — load it directly as an unpacked extension.
Open your browser's extension page
Chrome: type chrome://extensions in the address bar. Edge: edge://extensions. Firefox: about:addons.
chrome://extensionsEnable Developer mode
Toggle “Developer mode” on in the top-right corner (Chrome & Edge). Firefox users skip to the store instead.
Load the extension
Click “Load unpacked” and select the extension's dist folder. Firefox: drag the .xpi onto about:debugging.
Load unpackedPin it
Click the puzzle-piece icon in your toolbar and pin Ask Versa so it's always one click away.
Don't have the build files yet? The extension source and packaging scripts live in the repo's extension/ folder — run pnpm ext:build then load the extension/dist folder.
Two ways to start a comparison
Pick whichever feels faster. Both run the full AI pipeline in the background and open the cached result page on asversa.com.
From the popup
Click the toolbar icon on each product page.
- 1Open an Amazon product page for product A.
- 2Click the Ask Versa toolbar icon and press “Add to comparison”.
- 3Open the product page for B and press “Compare now”.
From the right-click menu
No popup needed — works on links too.
- 1Right-click anywhere on product A's page — or on its link in a list.
- 2Choose “Ask Versa: Add to compare”.
- 3Go to product B, right-click again, and pick “Ask Versa: Compare with …”.
Read the badge, set your preference
What the toolbar badge means
AI is running in the background.
Verdict ready and result page opened.
Something failed — check the popup.
One product is waiting for its pair.
The “Open result page after compare” switch
A loading page opens the moment you compare and self-redirects to the full report when the AI finishes. You watch it work the whole time. No notification.
Nothing opens while it runs. When the AI finishes, the cached result page opens and a “Comparison complete ✅” notification fires — click it to reopen the verdict.
Common questions
Is the extension free?
Yes. It uses the same free daily allowance as the website — two fresh comparisons per day per visitor.
Does it work on Firefox or Edge?
Edge can import directly from the Chrome Web Store. Firefox loads the same package via about:debugging or AMO.
Where does my data go?
Only the two product URLs (resolved to ASINs) are sent to asversa.com. The extension stores a per-install UUID so it doesn't share the anonymous rate-limit bucket. No browsing history is collected.
Why didn't a comparison open?
If the “open after result” mode is on, nothing opens until the AI finishes — watch the badge. A ✓ means it's ready and the result tab has opened.
The context-menu labels changed — what do they mean?
“Add to compare” stages the product you right-clicked. “Compare with …” appears once something is staged and runs the AI verdict against the staged product.
Prefer the web version?
No extension needed — paste two Amazon links and get the same AI verdict right in your browser.
